Twenty-one states have banned transgender women from participating in women’s and women’s sports, and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. wants that number to increase.

The former New York senator’s son appeared on CNN Saturday morning and said he opposes biological men participating in women’s sports.

“I am against people who participate in women’s sports who are biologically male,” the Democratic presidential candidate said. «I think women have worked too hard to develop women’s sports in the last 30 years. I’ve seen it happen and I don’t think it’s fair.»

The House passed legislation intended to prevent biological males from competing as transgender athletes in girls’ and women’s sports in schools across the country last week after a debate in which several Democrats accused Republicans of «harassing» transgender students by promoting the bill.

The Women and Girls in Sports Protection Act passed in a vote of 219-203. All the votes in favor came from the Republicans and all the votes against from the Democrats. But President Biden has said that he would veto the bill if it reached his desk.

Earlier this week, a Democrat blocked the Senate from passing legislation that would bar biological men from competing as transgender athletes on girls’ and women’s sports teams at schools and universities.

Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-Alabama, who was the head football coach at the University of Mississippi and Auburn University, urged unanimous consent to pass the bill.
