The New York Yankees will be without a slugger aaron judge a while more.

On Saturday, the reigning American League Most Valuable Player told reporters that he has a torn ligament in the big toe of his right foot. Judge was injured against the Los Angeles Dodgers on June 3 when he ran into the right-field wall while making a catch.

«I don’t think a lot of people have torn a toe ligament,» Judge said Saturday. «If it was a quad, we’d have a better answer. If it’s an oblique or a hamstring, we have deadlines for that. With the only thing being this injury and it being my back foot, which I push off and run out of, it’s a place difficult».

Judge did not provide a date for when he might return to the lineup.

«I’m not giving you any schedule. There’s no need,» Judge said when asked if he was targeting August for a return, according to MLB.com. «I just have to get better, and then I’ll be out there.»

The Yankees said Tuesday that Judge received and was responding well to a second injection of plasma on your toe.

«That’s absolute. I can’t say that about anyone. But yeah, I feel like he’s coming back,» Boone said.

«He can do a little more every day, but not to the point of running or doing baseball stuff,» Boone said. «We have to keep waiting and get him there. Obviously, it’s as tough as it gets. He wants to get back out there. We’ll keep trying to heal him and treat him and hope for the best.»

He the yankees have had problems in the month of June, missing 10 of 16 games since Judge’s injury.

The single-season AL home run king told reporters he can’t run and still has pain when he walks.

«If I could run, we’d be out there,» Judge said, according to MLB.com. «If I could run, I’d be playing defense, doing my thing. We’d think about hitting. But if I can’t move, that’s the biggest hurdle we have to get over.»

«The most important thing is that the big toe is what you push back [when] knocking i have to make sure [there is] balance, and being able to transfer weight is going to be the biggest key. Once we got over that hurdle, we started running and hitting.»
