Great Britain’s World Baseball Classic team faced ridicule on social media Saturday when the team faced the United States.

Fans watching the World Baseball Classic were perplexed by Great Britain’s font choice on their uniforms. The placement of its letters also caused bewilderment. Britain was split down the middle.

«GR» was on the right side of the players and «EAT» on the left side. Below that, «BRI» was on the right side and «TAIN» was on the left side.

The internet went undefeated with their t-shirt roast.

Meanwhile, a game was being played at Chase Field. Kyle Schwarber hit a three-run home run and Nolan Arenado added two RBIs on three hits, as the US won the game 6-2.

The United States took a 2-1 lead in the third inning after recovering from a home run by Trayce Thompson. Schwarber’s home run came in the fourth inning and landed in the pool.

Adam Wainwright picked up the wing after blocking it after Thompson’s home run. He lasted four innings allowing one run on five hits and striking out five batters. He credited the fans for showing up to the game and creating an exciting atmosphere.

«I thought it was probably the most exciting game I’ve thrown in a long time, honestly,» Wainwright said, via MLB.com. «I mean, it was a lot of fun. The crowd was rocking out early, we had the ‘US-A’ chant.»

It was the first game for the US in pool play. The team is playing in Group C with Colombia, Canada and Mexico.
