Tropical storm «Dolly» made landfall this Tuesday at 9:30 p.m. (local time) in the Mexican state of Veracruz, in the Gulf of Mexico, with winds of up to 95 kilometers per hour, according to the National Meteorological Service (SMN).

«Dolly’s area of ​​greatest convection is located over Veracruz, Tamaulipas, San Luis Potosí, Hidalgo, Querétaro, the State of Mexico, the Federal District, Nuevo León, Tlaxcala and Puebla,» the SMN reported in a statement in which recommends that the population of the affected areas «maintain precautions and follow the recommendations issued by the authorities of the National Civil Protection System.»

Earlier, the authorities declared a red alert for the central-eastern regions of the state of Tamaulipas and northern Veracruz, before the arrival of the tropical storm.
