The Kansas City Chiefs had plenty of bulletin board material on the wall after losing their last three games against the Cincinnati Bengals heading into the AFC Championship.
One of the losses came earlier this season in Cincy, and the previous one came in last season’s AFC Championship at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.
That tempted Bengals defensive back Mike Hilton to coin the term «Burrowhead» after quarterback Joe Burrow who went 1-0 at Arrowhead Stadium. Combine that with Cincinnati Mayor Aftab Pureval officially declaring that Burrow needed a paternity test to confirm if he is the father of Patrick Mahomes, it just added fuel to the fire.

When the Chiefs won, 23-20, in an instant classic, Travis Kelce let everyone in on it.
And he doesn’t regret it.
«As if we didn’t have enough ammunition… I was all set to go defend our stadium,» Kelce said in the podcast of him and his brother.
«The guys won a game. And I have all the respect in the world for Joey Burrow. They’re here trying to call Arrowhead, our legendary stadium, the loudest stadium in the world, they’re trying to call it ‘Burrowhead.'» ‘ after I get a win there?»
«All they did was lock us in a lot more and give us a lot more energy.»

However, Kelce admitted that it was the mayor’s comments that caused him to overreact, and he’s still pretty angry about it.
«What a fucking wimp, man. What the hell are you talking about, man?»
His brother, Jason, tried to easily let Travis down, saying that the mayor was just trying to promote his town. But Travis responded with the same jab he threw after the big win:
«He’s mayor. That’s why he should know what your role is and shut your mouth.»

He continued: «The paternity test, ‘Take a paternity test to see if Burrow is really the father of Mahomes.’
The brothers added that player trash talk normally comes from the funniest guys in the league having a lot of fun. But if you’re going to talk for the sake of talking, you have to follow the path.
«I respect all these guys a lot, but if you’re going to say shit, you have to back it up. And unfortunately [Mike] Hilton was abused. Eli Apple was abused.»
