Throughout college sports and even in professional leagues, teams have changed things up with their jerseys, providing alternatives with different color combinations to spice things up.

But the Texas Longhorns are all about tradition, vice president and athletic director Chris Del Conte said during his town hall Monday.

Conte said via Orangebloods.com that there is «no chance» Texas will have alternate uniforms in the future. The only colors on his head are burnt orange and white.

Schools like the University of Oregon are all for the modern way of keeping fans on their toes with their new uniforms and gear each week. Sure, they take alternate jerseys to the extreme, but others have also jazzed up their jerseys a bit like Ole Miss, Florida, and many more.

One alumnus said: «Ok @_delconte, what’s going on with our beloved Burnt Orange? Why are we getting brighter and brighter? Some clarity for us @TexasExes would be greatly appreciated. Let’s put Burnt back on Orange. After everything… #ThisIs Texas.»

Another disgruntled fan compared those jerseys to the bright orange and white of the University of Tennessee. Being a rival to the SEC, that bothered many.

But it goes to show what this traditional colorway means to the Longhorns and their fan base.
