A cancer diagnosis wouldn’t stand in Foster Moreau’s way.
Despite what he called a «life sentence,» the tight end attended a voluntary workout with the New Orleans Saints on Tuesday, now that he is currently out of treatment.
Moreau was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma in March after a regular checkup. He decided to take time away from soccer, but vowed not to let diagnoses define him.

«I tend to play by percentages, and I’ve beaten a lot of odds in my life,» he said in March. «If I can beat those odds, I’d love to. But I’ve also kicked a lot of–. If I couldn’t beat the odds, then I just have to deal with it. It was hard and it was scary. Every day goes by, and it seems my mind calms down a bit. By the time he the first chemotherapy session beginsIt’ll be like waking up on a Sunday morning and getting ready to kick someone’s ass.»
Well, he’s off to a good start and says he’s going «full steam ahead.»
«I’m going to keep fighting this for as long as it takes,» Moreau said after practice, via ESPN. «As many times as I need to fight this and get back into remission, I will.»

Moreau said he needs to clear more «mentally [hurdles] than nothing.»
