New Orleans Saints tight end Foster Moreau gave the football world tremendous news Monday as he announced that he is officially in remission after battling Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
Moreau took to social media to make the announcement.
«After a tumultuous few months, I have been blessed with the news that I am in full remission from Hodgkin’s lymphoma!» Moreau wrote. «I am so grateful to everyone who reached out to offer their love and support; our prayers were answered. From here I will continue to live my life as God commanded.»

Moreau was diagnosed with cancer in March after a regular physical, since he was a free agent and physicals are done by teams. He called it a «life sentence» and took time off the game to begin an immediate battle with Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
However, Moreau would never let his diagnosis interfere with his football career.

Moreau was spotted on the Saints’ OTAs in late May, which is a completely voluntary workout with the team. He was running routes, catching passes and doing everything else his teammates were doing, which was inspiring to the group and those following his journey.
«I’m going to keep fighting this for as long as it takes,» Moreau said, via ESPN, after that practice. «As many times as I need to fight this and get back into remission, I will.»

While there are «mental hurdles» Moreau said she needs to overcome, the odds were high that she would beat her cancer after learning the details behind what her diagnosis meant.
«I tend to play by percentages, and I’ve beaten a lot of odds in my life,» he said in March. «If I can beat those odds, I’d love to. But I’ve also kicked a lot of ass. If I couldn’t beat the odds, then I just have to deal with it. It was hard and it was scary. Each day passes, and my mind seems to settle down a little bit. By the time the first chemotherapy session begins, it will be like waking up on a Sunday morning and getting ready to kick someone’s ass.»
