Netflix’s reboot of the hit 2004 series Rebel has ended after two seasons.

Technically being the fifth iteration of Rebelthe show took you back to Elite Way School as a new generation of students hopes to win the Battle of the Bands.

The show starred Azul Guaita, Sergio Mayer Mori, Andrea Chaparro, Jerónimo Cantillo, Franco Masini, Lizeth Selene and Alejandro Puente, and it premiered for the first time on January 5, 2022, and the second season premiered in July 2022. .

16 episodes in total were released on Netflix, which is a far cry from the 450 that the original series released.

News of the cancellation comes via Hello! Mexico in an interview with the actor Sergio Mayer Mori through which he told the medium (translated from Spanish through Google Translate):

“It would be an honor for me to be able to do the third, fourth and fifth, what happens is that it hasn’t been done anymore. It was Netflix, it was the producers who told us: ‘thanks for everything guys, and the third time, there’s no more’”. He added that he does not know the reasons why they made that decision: «Because I have no idea (…) it was definitely not my decision.»
