Following Toronto’s 108-100 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers On Wednesday night, VanVleet criticized the referee and singled out referee Ben Taylor.
«I don’t care, I’ll take a ticket. I really don’t care,» VanVleet said. «I thought Ben Taylor was fucking terrible tonight. I thought most nights out of three [officials], there are one or two that screw up the game. It’s been like that a couple of games in a row.

VanVleet has eight technical fouls this season, three of which have been called by Taylor.

«It’s just a f—-game. Nobody’s coming to see that s—. They’re coming to see the players,» VanVleet continued. «And I think we’re losing a little bit of the fabric of what the NBA is and was. It’s been disappointing this season. You can look up… most of my coaching this year has been with Ben Taylor as referee. At one point as a player you feel it’s personal.
