The Pittsburgh Pirates went through a terrifying situation in their spring training facility on Tuesday.

A guest of the Pirates suffered a cardiac event and required CPR while shooting fly balls in the outfield of Pittsburgh’s spring training facility, Pirate City, according to a report in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

An elderly man, whose name has not been released, fell onto the field before being treated by pirate doctors staff and was taken to a local hospital.

Longtime chief medical officer Dr. Patrick DeMeo performed CPR and a defibrillator was used, according to the report.

Many members of the organization reportedly knelt in prayer and gathered in the gardens when the ambulance arrived.

Among those invited to Tuesday’s spring training were people associated with the Manatee, Florida, Chamber of Commerce.

«This morning a guest from the pirates fucking balls on field one from Pirates City had a medical issue that required immediate attention,» the Pirates said in a statement, according to The Athletic. «He was treated by Pirates medical staff, is alert and responsive, and will be transported to a hospital for treatment. assessment.»

Hamlin, who required CPR on the field for more than nine minutes and spent a week in the hospital, is expected to play soccer again.
