Created by Megan Gallagher, the 8-part crime thriller series follows the story of Nikolai, a police officer in a small town who is involved in a criminal case involving drugs and corruption. While investigating the case, he becomes a suspect and finds himself caught in a dangerous web of lies, deceit, and betrayal.

Borderliner carries a 6.7 on IMDb with Decider reviewing titlesaying that it is as «dark and atmospheric as Scandi-noir», adding that «it is also elegantly beautiful and extremely tense».
The series is available with countless audio and subtitle options, although an English dub has never been released.
The series aired in 2017 on TV2 in Norway and was later licensed by Netflix globally on March 6, 2018.
Five years later, the show now displays a takedown notice on the show’s official page for March 6, 2023, and your last day to watch it on Netflix is March 5.
The removal date applies to all Netflix regions.
Because it is limit leaving Netflix?
As we’ve discussed before, not all Netflix Originals are owned by the service and are instead exclusively distributed for a fixed period of time. That’s the case with Borderliner, where Netflix acquired the streaming rights.
Netflix, of course, chooses to renew frontier, and stays with the service for years to come, but it’s not always the case that they choose to do so, especially with lesser-known titles like this.
While it’s a loss to Netflix’s library, there are still plenty of Nordic crime novels out there, including dead wind, trapped, the brown manand border town. Netflix will once again partner with TV2 in distribution Oslo gangs in the near future.
We’ve seen dozens of Netflix Originals leave the service in recent years, with even more (including some big ones) planned in the coming months and years.
