multiple seasons of 19-2 are scheduled to arrive on Netflix on February 27, 2023. Various regions are set to receive the showincluding Netflix in the US and UK.

It’s unclear exactly how many seasons will be coming to Netflix, but given the terminology, at least seasons 1 and 2 will be added to the service.

This is not the first time 19-2 has broadcast in the United States. The series previously aired on Acorn TV, AMC Networks British focused on the streamer where seasons 1 and 2 are still on transmission reportedly through 2030.

He NYTimes revised the show in 2016 when the show first came to Acorn TV, calling it a «slow burn» but adding:

“There are tropes in “19-2”—the cop genre is too crowded for there not to be—but the writing is sublime, turning each episode into a sort of symphonic poem, a carefully observed slice of urban and police life. The series follows in the tradition of shows like «The Wire» in portraying law enforcement in a less flashy and noisy way than others, and therefore more accurately.»

Julia Alexander, now at Parrot Analytics, has written in the past about how Netflix needs more procedurals like Criminal Minds and NCIS (which have been big ratings drivers based on Nielsen data).

This is evidenced in 2023, with the Netflix license of seasons 1 and 2 of new amsterdam since the beginning of the year in the United States and has since appeared in the top 10 on television.
