Jonathan Isaac, an NBA forward who plays for the Orlando Magic, spoke Tuesday after Charles Barkley’s rant in support of the LGBTQ community went viral.
Barkley was near Lake Tahoe for a celebrity golf tournament when he took aim at «rednecks» and «a-holes» who don’t drink Bud Light after the company partnered with transgender activist Dylan Mulvaney earlier this year. .
Barkley later commented that he was not «worried» about the cancellation.
Isaac responded on Twitter.

«What does this mean? No one with human decency wants trans or gay people to die or have no rights… God bless you all… but it is 1000% valid as a parent or adult to worry about observable movement to influence children. Is that hateful?» he wrote.
«It’s crazy that to be the number one influence on your kids you have to go to war against influencers, the media, movies, multi-billion dollar corporations, and good people like Charles who choose to align themselves with empty politics. and politically correct.» statements and narratives. Nothing (sic) that Charles said would get him canceled and it’s crazy that he thinks he would.»
Barkley was seen Friday and Saturday night telling patrons at the bar that he would buy them beer, specifically Bud Light.

«I want everyone to drink this fucking beer. I want everyone to drink this fucking beer,» he said in a video that initially appeared on TikTok on Friday night. “I have three boxes of Bud Light. Hey, and I want to say this… If you’re gay, bless you. If you’re transgender, bless you. If you have a problem with that, fuck you!”
Barkley made another impassioned speech the following night.

«I’m going to buy y’all some shots. And I’m going to buy Bud Light. And I’m going to tell you something: all of you rednecks or assholes who don’t want to drink Bud Light.» , f — you. Hey, you can’t cancel me,» Barkley said.
«I’m not worried about getting fired. Because let me tell you something: if you fire me and give me all that money, I’m going to be golfing every damn day. Like I said last night, if you’re gay, God bless you. If you’re trans , God bless you. If you have a problem with them, fuck off.»
Isaac played in 11 games for the Magic last season in his return from a two-season ACL injury. He was sidelined with a torn left adductor muscle in March.
