It’s not just the players who have to adjust to the new rules of baseball.
With the implementation of the shot clock in Major League Baseballthe games are moving faster than ever, and even the concession stands are making changes.
Traditionally, most ballparks stop serving alcohol to customers after the seventh inning to avoid overserving customers.

But how the games have been significantly shorter to start the 2023 season, playing time was reduced by 31 minutes, some stadiums are extending beer sales into the eighth inning.
The Arizona Diamondbacks, Texas Rangers, Milwaukee Brewers and Minnesota Twins have made alcohol available until the eighth inning as games have picked up speed, according to The Associated Press.
«This is [reflective] from the fact that the games are shorter. From a timing perspective, we’re probably looking to sell beer for the same amount of time extending from the eighth inning that we did last year to the seventh.» Brewers President of Business Operations said Rick Schlesinger, according to MLB.com.

«Obviously, the safety and conduct of our fans comes first. We haven’t had any issues, but it’s a small sample size and we’ll continue to test it and see if it makes sense. I know a number of other teams are doing the same thing.»
Milwaukee will extend beer sales on an experimental basis and isn’t ruling out going back to the seventh inning rule if necessary.
«If it turns out that this is causing a problem or we think it might cause a problem, we’ll go back to what we’ve done previously,» Schlesinger said.

While most teams stop selling alcohol after the seventh, Major League Baseball it does not regulate when teams can sell adult beverages.
With games flying by, the Rangers have also begun offering all fans in-seat service to avoid long lines and missing out on game action.
MLB’s average playing time is on track to be the lowest since the 1984 season.
