Manchester City celebrated their Premier League title in style with a 1-0 win against Chelsea on Sunday.
Julián Álvarez’s 12th-minute goal secured the 12th consecutive league victory for Pep Guardiola’s side as fans toasted victory by storming the pitch after the final whistle.
It is City’s third successive title and the fifth in six seasons for a team that dominates English football. And it could be just the start of a historic trophy treble this term, with the Champions League and FA Cup finals yet to come.

«We always believed we could do this. This group of guys are professionals and winners,» defenseman Kyle Walker said. «Rest assured we are not done. We have the FA Cup against our bitter rivals (Manchester United) and then the Champions League.
«We’ll celebrate tonight and then move on to try and make history.»
Arsenal’s 1-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest on Saturday meant City were confirmed champions even before their last home game of the campaign.
It meant that Guardiola could afford to name Erling Haaland, Kevin De Bruyne, Rodri, John Stones and Ederson on the bench. But even in his absence, City secured victory with World Cup winner Álvarez scoring the decisive goal.

The Argentina international has been overshadowed by Haaland’s record-breaking feats, but he proved his quality with a clinical finisher after controlling Cole Palmer’s pass.
City never seemed to reach the heights of recent defeats to Liverpool, Arsenal and Real Madrid, but they didn’t need to after Álvarez’s goal set them on course for victory early on.
Chelsea had an abundance of chances through Raheem Sterling, in particular, and Conor Gallagher could have leveled the score when he hit the post with a header in the first half.
Kalvin Phillips also hit the woodwork for City after the break and Álvarez saw a second goal disallowed by VAR after Riyad Mahrez’s drive-in in the build-up.
Haaland and De Bruyne came on in the second half, but were unable to increase City’s lead.
Not that the fans were complaining on a day that was always going to be about the post-game party and they couldn’t wait to hound their heroes when the final whistle blew.
Supporters immediately flooded the field after the final whistle, carrying celebratory banners and blowing canisters of blue smoke.

City players were later recorded singing «We are the champions» in the dressing room before leaving for the trophy presentation with ticker blasts.
