Horse racing fans will have potential Triple Crown Winning Horse to support the Preakness on May 20.

Mage, the winner of the 149th edition of the The Kentucky Derbyhe will run in the Preakness after a good workout at Churchill Downs.

Co-owner Ramiro Restrepo said Mage is «thriving» after running about 1.5 miles at the track Friday morning.

«He’s had a great week of training,» Restrepo said with co-owner Chase Chamberlin, co-founder and race director from partner CMNWLTH. «[Trainer] gustavo delgado [Jr.] he was really pleased and delighted how he has come back. He has shown all the positive signs. So, let’s go to Baltimore and crab cakes, here we go.»

Mage won the Kentucky Derby in a close contest after entering the race at odds of 15-1.

From the outside, Mage found his way to the front of that field, passing Two Phil’s and winning the race by a length.

Mage will be driven to Baltimore after a training session on Saturday, with Javier Castellano returning to jockey.

“We have been monitoring this situation with all the love that he has shown us on the track,” Restrepo added. «We’re trying to give him that and give him time to show us what’s up and everything he did before the Derby.
