«Nobody predicted that John Cena would go out and announce the possibility of WrestleMania in the UK,» Alex Davies-Jones, co-chairman of the All Party Parliamentary Group, told the BBC on Tuesday.

«It was absolutely incredible and the whole venue was abuzz with excitement about the possibilities of what that could mean for wrestling fans, but also for the UK economy and for future fans as well.»

He doubled down on his support on social media, noting that WWE and All Elite Wrestling (AEW) are «good news» for the country. AEW is set to pack Wembley Stadium for All In later this summer.

«Wrestlemania in the UK would be phenomenal for our economy, for our position on a global stage, but most importantly for UK fans of all ages!» she wrote.

«Having @WWE and @AEW hosting big events here is great news for all of us.

«I’m endorsing @JohnCena’s call! Come on @TripleH to make this happen!»

Triple H, WWE’s chief content officer, was asked about making WrestleMania happen in London after the post-Money in the Bank press conference.

“As far as WrestleMania is concerned, it is difficult. I wish it was that easy, I wish it was as easy as saying ‘It’s great there, come on’. We were going to a lot of places,” he said.

«But I can say this, if you look at just this year, just 2023, four of the last five premium live events we’ve done have been in international destinations. You can look back at the years before that, skip the COVID one, but look at the years before that and it really hasn’t been a common occurrence Montreal sold out record sales Puerto Rico sold out record sales Saudi Arabia sold out record sales London here sold out record sales It bodes well for international. We are a global company. We intend to be a global company. We intend to be global.

«So, never say never for any of that. The intention is there. It’s a lot harder than it seems, but the intention is there. And if there’s a way to do a lot of these international events, we’re hell-bent on doing it.»
