Ja Morant found himself in trouble last weekend when he displayed a gun during an Instagram Live.

That span of trial ended with an eight-game suspension Wednesday for «holding a firearm while intoxicated while visiting a Denver-area nightclub.»

Morant also entered a counseling program to «work on learning better ways to deal with stress and my general well-being.»

The Memphis Grizzlies superstar said the gun was not his, but he took «full responsibility» for his actions.

“It’s not who I am. I do not condone any type of violence, but I take full responsibility for my actions,» Morant said. «I made a serious mistake, and I can see the picture I painted of myself with my recent mistakes, but in the future, I’ll show everyone who Ja really is, what it’s all about, and change this narrative.»

The video came just days after it was revealed that Morant got into a physical altercation with a teenager at his Memphis home during an impromptu basketball game. Morant also displayed a weapon in that incident, claiming that he acted in self-defense. and that the teenager said that he would «blow [his house] like fireworks.»

In February, the The Indiana Pacers claimed that after an altercation between Morant’s associates and the Pacers, a red laser was pointed at the team from a van carrying Morant, which the Pacers believed was a weapon.

The NBA investigated the incident and found that no «individual threatened others with a weapon.»

Morant has missed the last six games and will be eligible to return to the field on Monday, March 20 against the dallas mavericks.
