Arkansas men’s basketball coach Eric Musselman said Saturday night that he was getting coaching advice from legendary golfer John Daly when the team beat Kansas in the round of 32.
Musselman said Daly was doing shooting drills to get players to work on their free throws. The Razorbacks were 22-for-29 against Illinois from the charity strip and were 21-for-26 from the line in a 72-71 win over the Jayhawks.

«He tried calling me, he’s already gotten a couple of text messages,» Musselman said. «Before I hit the plane, I’ll try to call John. You know, he’s been texting me even drills. Like he wants our guys to get out a putter and hit a ball in a cup. We haven’t tried it yet , luckily we’ve been shooting free throws. But I know Arkansas State is on fire right now and I know John Daly’s in pretty high spirits, too.»
After the victory, the 58-year-old coach jumped onto the press table, removed his red polo shirt and waved it over his head.
