Dallas Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones had a way of describing his feelings following Sunday’s divisional-round loss to the San Francisco 49ers: «disgusting.»

Speaking to reporters after the 19-12 loss, Jones expressed his frustration with the Cowboys’ continued playoff woes, adding that he felt good about the team heading into the game.

«I’m very disappointed in our fans and this felt good,» he said. «This felt good today, it felt good with the team but San Francisco had something to say about it. But we have a locker room full of sick players and coaches to support literally hundreds of thousands of Cowboys fans that I know are sick.»

With the Cowboys losing for the seventh straight time in the divisional round and failing to reach the NFC title game since winning their fifth Super Bowl title after the 1995 season, questions quickly arose about the coach’s job security at Chief Mike McCarthy.

However, Jones quickly put the speculation to rest on Sunday night.

«No, no, not at all,» Jones said of the result that changed his opinion of McCarthy.

Jones also apparently backed McCarthy’s decision to continue with kicker brett Maher, who missed his fifth extra point of the postseason before making two field goal attempts.

«And his decision for our kicker was exonerated with his field goal on my mind, and I’m proud for him, but this is so disgusting, not winning tonight.»

dak prescott he threw two interceptions and led just one touchdown drive to give the 49ers their 12th straight win of the season behind rookie quarterback Brock Purdy.

«The defense gave us a chance to win this game. They played hard against a very, very good offense, a very good team,» Prescott said. «For us to just put the points we made, that’s unacceptable. It starts with me. I have to be better. There’s no other way to sugarcoat it.»
