The Colorado Buffaloes saw a mass exodus of their football team this week with 18 players entering the transfer portal on Monday.

The departure of the 18 players brought the total number of entries to the portal to 41 since Deion Sanders he took the head coaching job, according to The Athletic.

One of the players who entered their name on the portal is tight end Zachary Courtney, who was a freshman in 2022.

On Tuesday, Courtney took to Twitter and reported possible future coaches I couldn’t provide them with a practice film as Sanders wouldn’t allow it.

«To the coaches who are trying to recruit me. I’m sorry but I won’t be able to get my video of my practices last season as I can’t have it because the CU head coach won’t allow it,» Courtney posted. «This is very unfortunate and if you have any questions just send me a text!

«Once again, this is not an opportunity for Deion, I just wanted the trainers to know that I don’t have a movie for them!!»

Later that day, Courtney expressed her regret over his Twitter post by responding to another user.

«I never meant to say anything bad about Deion, I’m sorry I posted this. I should have taken my time and sent it to all the coaches, I never expected it to blow up,» Courteny wrote.

The massive roster overhaul is part of the plan for «Coach Prime» as he enters his first season as head coach of the Buffaloes.

«You all know we’re going to move on from some of the team members, and we’re going to recharge and get some kids that we really identify with,» Sanders said after the spring game, according to The Athletic. «So this process is going to be quick, it’s going to be quick, but we’re going to get it done.»

Sanders was hired by colorado in decembertasked with turning around a program that went 1-11 in 2022 and winning double-digit games in a season just once since 2002.

His arrival in Boulder, Colo., immediately infused talent into the roster, drawing ranked class 21 and a top-five transfer portal class, according to 247 Sports.

«We’re not recruiting ordinary Tom, Dick and Harry,» Sanders said on National Signing Day. «We drafted some guys who can light up the scoreboard and stop touchdowns from happening. We’re getting there. We’re serious about it.»
