Kansas City Chiefs Head coach Andy Reid knows and appreciates the connection he shares with the Philadelphia Eagles, but his focus will be on winning another Super Bowl on Sunday.
Reid spoke to the media during a news conference Tuesday and was asked to reflect on his time in Philadelphia, where he trained the Eagles six NFC championship games and a Super Bowl away.

«Listen, I had a great 14 years there. I loved every minute of it. It’s a great organization. I’m still close to the people there. It was great to see the kids that we had recruited who are now these veteran players: all-professional players — in that equipment.

«I had a chance to give them a hug last night, and now we’re going our separate ways and getting ready to play.»
Reid got a chance to hug those «kids» during opening night, including the center. jason kelce, defensive tackle Fletcher Cox and defensive end Brandon Graham. He also gave special recognition to Eagles executive vice president and general manager Howie Roseman.

«I’m proud of them and what they’ve done. I’m proud of Howie Roseman and what he’s done. He’s done a great job turning that team around a couple of different times, and that’s not an easy thing to do. Probably He didn’t get enough credit for that,» Reid said.
The Eagles and Chiefs are seeking their second Super Bowl title in five years. For Kansas City, the big stage is more familiar.

But for Reid, the stories don’t really matter.
«Once you get past all of that, now it’s the teams that play each other,» Reid said. «And the uniform doesn’t really matter. Once the game starts, it’s football. Who has the best team, best players, best coaches and who gets a break here or there, all those things that normally happen in a football game have place. So you leave everything else blank. You don’t worry too much about it. You don’t let it get in the way of your preparation.»
