Here’s something you don’t hear very often: A cheerleader was ejected from a college basketball game after getting into an on-court altercation with a player.

Mississippi Valley State and Alabama A&M were tied at 63 with just over three minutes to play in their conference game after two free throws. But, on the inbounds pass, Alabama A&M’s Dailin Smith got too close to a cheerleader while attempting a baseline trick.

Apparently, Smith contacted the cheerleader, who immediately looked back to see who hit her. And well, she did not forget.

When Mississippi Valley State brought the ball back onto the court and an umpire stopped play with a whistle, she walked onto the court and confronted the player she had tangled with.

As play stopped, the game announcers began talking about what happened before a woman could be heard very clearly yelling, «Security!»

Security finally came to the ground and the cheerleader was escorted off the field.

But the wild happenings in this gym weren’t over yet. As we mentioned, this game went all the way and needed a buzzer to finish it.

Alabama A&M’s Messiah Thompson made the final shot of the game as the buzzer sounded to silence the Mississippi Valley State crowd. He had the perfect touch on his float as he dribbled to the right, and he looked out over the crowd as they were in awe of what they saw.

With that win, Alabama A&M moved to 10-15 on the year with a 6-6 record in the Southwestern Athletic Conference.
