Alabama quarterback Bryce Young he’s the reigning Heisman Trophy winner, and if it weren’t for two plays this season, he could very well be in line for two back-to-back Heisman’s and a trip to the College Football Playoff.
Instead, Young and the Crimson Tide are out of contention for a trip to the SEC Championship Gamethus ending his Heisman hopes and almost certainly the Crimson Tide’s national championship hopes.

Obviously this is a great game. This means a lot to me, to people across the state, to us as a team. This is a great game, so all I think about is today.»

In recent years, the trend of players heading to the NFL opting out of the team’s bowl game has increased.
