Longtime Boston Bruins left winger Brad Marchand has been known to speak his mind on the ice…and on social media. His most recent comment on the proposed destinations for the 2025 NHL All-Star Game has received a quick reaction.
Reported destinations that the NHL is considering for the 2025 festivities are Seattle, Detroit, and Edmonton, Canada. Since these three cities are brutal in the winter, Marchand gave his opinion on the matter.
«Lol, can’t wait to see how many guys boycott that game,» he commented in a post with the report.

After one hockey fan said, «Brad is back,» he responded, «I mean it’s true.»

Marchand and the Bruins are currently in Seattle to face the Kraken on Thursday night, and you won’t be surprised if you hear some boos from the crowd when you play the puck.
Marchand is used to being a villain at away games, but this could be even louder.

«It depends on how serious some tweets want to take,» Marchand told Fox News Digital. «A lot of what I do on social media is a lot of fun. I like to joke around, not to be taken seriously. People like to overreact these days, and I’m sure there will be some angry fans who thought I was being serious. But then again, it was all a lot of fun.»
However, Marchand sees a «bit of truth» in his thoughts that players don’t want to head to these heavy-winter cities for the holidays.
«It’s not even for me,» admitted Marchand, a four-time All-Star in 14 NHL seasons. «The chance of me being there is slim. But there’s a bit of truth to that, if you want guys to want to be there and want to be a part of it and really make it nice, then make it nice for them.» Going to Edmonton in the dead of winter, or Detroit, is not where those guys want to be when everyone else on their team is out enjoying their vacations or time with their families. [player’s] the family will want to come here.
«Put it in places guys want to be and make them want to be there, and they’ll make the game enjoyable. If not, they’ll be miserable while they’re there and try to get out.» in certain ways. That’s all the fans want – they want to see the best players and enjoy them in the game. To do that, put them in places where guys want to be.»

Edmonton Oilers fans she took particular offense to Marchand’s comments, one of whom called the Bruin a «fucking diva». However, Marchand said: «Let’s put it this way… nobody takes less to stay there.»
After the Bruins play the Kraken, their four-game West Coast tour takes them to Vancouver to take on the Canucks on Saturday before traveling to Edmonton. So the tension is already palpable by Marchand’s arrival, and will surely erupt when Marchand’s skates hit the ice.

This year’s All-Star Game was in Sunrise, Florida, the home of the Florida Panthers, which was a huge success. However, the cold will return next year when Scotiabank Arena, home of the Toronto Maple Leafs, hosts All-Star weekend.
