Jeremiah Collins, a football player for Austin Peay, was killed in a car crash in Tennessee on Friday, authorities said.

Collins, an 18-year-old defensive back, was driving too fast coming off a highway and his truck rolled several times before coming to a stop in a grassy area, the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department said in a news release.

Police said there were no signs of deterioration at the crash site and that Collins was treated there. He was then transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
