Los Angeles Angels third baseman Anthony Rendon was suspended four games after an altercation with an Oakland Athletics fan last Thursday.

The suspension was originally for five games when MLB’s senior vice president of field operations Michael Hill announced it Monday. However, after appealing, Rendon was allegedly annulled four games to which he rescinded the appeal.

The LA Times was the first to report on the suspension reduction.

Rendon’s suspension will begin immediately Monday night when the Angels take on the Seattle Mariners.

The incident was caught up close on video, as Rendón appeared to grab a fan’s jersey after believing he was being interrupted.

«What did you say? You called me b—-, huh. Yes, you did. Yes, you did. Yes, mother—-,» Rendon told the fan as he grabbed her shirt.

The incident occurred after the Angels lost their season opener to the A’s, 2-1. Rendón went 0-for-3 with a walk to open the season.

However, the Angels would win the series outright with a 13-1 win on Saturday followed by a 6-0 victory on Sunday.

Since signing a seven-year, $245 million deal with the Angels in 2019, Rendon has struggled to stay on the field as injuries have gotten in the way of his production. That contract came after his lone All-Star season with the Washington Nationals, where he smashed 34 home runs, 44 doubles and brought home 126 RBIs with a .319 average.
