Adam Hadwin got a little more than he bargained for on Sunday when he celebrated Nick Taylor’s victory at the Canadian Open.
After Taylor sank a ridiculous 72-foot eagle putt to win the tournament in a playoff, Hadwin ran onto the green spraying champagne everywhere to celebrate with one of his best friends when he was knocked down by a security guard. The moment immediately went viral overnight.

Hadwin’s wife, Jessica, had an amusing reaction to the whole ordeal.
«Sorry to leave you all hanging, had to get the toddler ready for bed. I’m delighted to report that @ahadwingolf is still in the land of the living and in true Canadian form, he apologized to the security guard for having been approached,» he tweeted.
Jessica Hadwin would later quote and tweet her analysis from a new angle that emerged.

«My God, I can’t handle these different angles. The laser focus of the security guard on his target. Adam’s engagement with the giant bottle of champagne. So many things to take in with each new point of view,» he added.
Adam Hadwin, who grew up in Abbotsford, British Columbia like Taylor, said the entry didn’t really faze him at all.
«It’s unbelievable. I mean, what about one of the greatest moments in Canadian golf history?» Hadwin said. «I think we all predicted this was going to happen.
«I’m not sure any of us would have predicted a 72-foot eagle putt … to do it, but what a way to do it.»

Taylor is the first Canadian in 69 years to win the national open. He defeated Tommy Fleetwood in the tiebreaker.
